Sopore, Oct 30 (KNO): Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) plying in Sopore town during the day are giving tough time to commuters, leading to traffic jams.
Several students told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that there are huge traffic jams during morning and evening hours causing them inconvenience in reaching their destinations.
Earlier, authorities in a bid to decongest the town claimed the banning of traditional horse-carts (Tongas) within municipal limits, as they believe Tongas were the main reason for frequent jams in the town. However, they continue to ply despite the ban.
Locals also complained about roadside parking of vehicles alongside Shah Faisal market and Jamia Masjid.
Additional DC Sopore, SA Raina said they will impose restriction on entry of Heavy Motor Vehicles in the town within days—(KNO)
